Video and rich media content marketing - making the most of the fastest growing media in digital

Online video continues to grow at an astonishing pace. Today over six billion hours of video are watched every month online, an increase of 50% year-on-year from 2012 to 2013.

YouTube is still king of the video platforms, but with emerging short-form channels like Vine and Instagram adding to the mix, video is establishing itself as one of the most shareable formats on the social web. This offers powerful opportunities for brands to communicate with their customers and prospects in compelling new ways.

For content marketers, making video work is not just about creating compelling content for these channels, but also ensuring that production and distribution are at the heart of their clients’ content strategies.

At this event we’ll explore current thinking, from creating great rich media content, to maximizing return on investment for branded video across all digital platforms.

Speakers and panellists

  • Jessica Elvidge, YouTube Next Lab, YouTube
  • Ravi Amaratunga, Head of Dazed Vision, Dazed Group -

Ravi joined Dazed Group from Channel 4 in 2013 to set up its video content arm Dazed Vision. The department strategises, develops, produces, commissions and distributes video content, split between editorial and branded work. Dazed Group titles including Dazed & Confused, AnOther and Another Man. These include music, fashion, documentaries, dramas, comedies, art films, interviews and everything in-between.

Commercially Dazed Vision works on both co-branded and white label content verticals, agency work and forward facing, experiential video and everything in-between. It feeds directly into Dazed Group's creative agency: Dazed White Label.

  • Sam Orams, Partner and Head of Operations, Bespoke Banter - We work with brands who have budgets for making video but are struggling to reach audiences. Simultaneously we speak with magazines and publishers who have a big audiences but are struggling to find the necessary budgets for making quality video. There’s obviously a disconnect happening here, so what can we do to bring these needs together and when we do, how can we produce content that keeps brands, publishers and audiences happy, engaged and coming back for more?
  • Anders Dalgaard, Product Manager, 23 - Anders will be presenting the benefits of online video vs. traditional flow tv in terms on online engagement, interaction with viewers, and conversions. Currently, the power of the web and modern browsers is not yet being fully realized, and this means there is plenty of room to do a much better integration of video in the online presence. In fact, many companies can completely reinvent their communication strategies and business processes through online video. This also entails a much greater understanding of online video ROI and how to best define, measure and track it in a online environment. Anders works for the Danish company 23 and is daily involved in helping organizations do smarter online video communication.
