Economia magazine wins twice at the CMA awards

Economia walked off with two prizes at the prestigious 2012 CMA International Content Marketing Awards.

The business and finance magazine, which is published by Progressive Customer Publishing for ICAEW, was voted Best Membership Title 2012.

The judging panel congratulated the economia team for stepping up to produce "an editorially and commercially robust magazine and website that accurately conveyed the concerns of its client's members".

"Results were impressive: 88% of members surveyed said it provided authoritative insight and useful opinion, while average reading time was a lengthy 44 minutes. This demonstrates excellent cross-channel strategy and is a great example to all clients of the benefits of letting a good agency take charge".

The magazine also won the coveted Best Content Marketing Solution of the Year (B2B) for its "engaging content combined with excellent delivery".

The judges praised the highly strategic approach the economia team adopted, central to which is the print magazine, which provides insight and analysis through a mix of profiles and features covering major trends. The news-focused website allows immediate reader feedback, as well as dynamic content such as webinars, video clips, live streaming and audio.

PCP's managing director Dan Davey, said: "To be shortlisted for any industry awards considering economia is still only nine months old, was an achievement in itself. So to actually win two award categories in our first year, beating organisations and businesses with established and successful magazines and brands, is hugely gratifying and a testament to all of the hard work and innovative thinking that both the PCP and ICAEW teams have put in."

Sharron Gunn, executive director, commercial at ICAEW said: "I'm delighted that economia and, in particular the great partnership ICAEW has established with Progressive Customer Publishing, has been recognised at the CMA International Content Marketing Awards. Economia is already receiving great feedback from our members and congratulations must go to the editorial, sales and production teams, who work together to make it such a superb magazine."

Launched in February 2012, economia has an ABC-certified circulation of 159,908 per issue (January 2012 to 30th June 2012). The economia team also produces a weekly email newsletter and a newly launched app, so ICAEW members are able to engage with content when and where they want. The economia app is currently rated number one in the Apple App Store Business and Investing newsstand category and is available now for both iPhone and iPad users. The app will be launching for Android devices in early 2013.
