Cedar's Editorial Director Mark Jones was announced as the AITO Travel Writer of the Year on Tuesday for his article on A Galapagos Islands adventure, featured in BA's High Life magazine.

Mark fended off The Daily TelegraphCondé Nast Traveller and Lonely Planet - as well as The Sunday TimesThe Financial Times and The Independent - to take the award, with High Life noted as the only customer content title in this year's shortlist.

The judges at AITO commented that they felt the article was a clear winner this year, commending Mark for "interestingly conveying startlingly different views of Darwin and the islands so as to jar the reader's mind into thinking more".
