River once again came away victorious from the Association of Publishing Agencies Awards, with a win for Weight Watchers magazine and a high commendation for dream magazine (produced for Honda).
Wednesday evening saw River scoop Best Consumer Publication (non-retail) for Weight Watchers magazine, competing against electric for Virgin (Redwood) and Completely London for Kinleigh, Folkard & Hayward (August Media). Judges said, "There's a great mix of journalism and engaging imagery with lots of practical information. Alongside the excellent effectiveness results, this is a sure fire winner!"
Weight Watchers Editor Mary Frances says, "I'm so proud. The magazine is going from strength to strength at the moment, what with the impending launch of a French edition and now the APA award. It's been a great year for the magazine and I couldn't be happier!"
Elizabeth Egan, VP Products & Licensing at Weight Watchers says, "We've been really impressed with the developments the magazine has made this year, reaching out to women across the country with inspirational and motivational content. The APA award just confirms our long-held views about Weight Watchers magazine - it's great to see the team at River recognised for their efforts."
Chief Executive Nicola Murphy says, "Our partnership with Weight Watchers is stronger than ever, and this is the perfect way to round out the year. We're incredibly proud of Mary and all the team, as well as all the other teams who were nominated for an APA Award."
