Seven's Simon Campbell scoops PPA award for Designer of the Year

Art Director Simon Campbell, of award-winning agency, Seven, has won the PPA Designer of the Year (Business Media) award at this year’s PPA awards, held on Thursday 10 July at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London. Simon was selected for his outstanding creative work on Grant Thornton’s Strategies for growth this year.

It’s not the first time Campbell has been shortlisted for Best Designer, thanks to his creative expertise. He has been nominated for more than 20 different design awards during his time at Seven, including the PPA Designer of the Year (Business Media) award back in 2010 and 2012.

Grant Thornton recently developed a new brand promise, looking to refresh, strengthen and refocus its client communications to reflect its new brand promise and demonstrate understanding of its client base.

Simon’s fresh creative approach has been key in achieving this. When Simon conceived Strategies for growth’s design he wanted to create a unique magazine that not only had a strong visual language, but also had the scope to cross over into other media channels. The creative heart of Strategies for growth is the international focus of the Dynamic Markets section.

Michael Booth, Seven Creative Director, says: “Simon is one of our top designers and it is a credit to his hard work and creative skill that he has been recognised this year. It’s much deserved – well done Simon on yet another award."
