UK Adspend rebounds to pre-recession levels

Brands spent £17.17bn on advertising last year despite the still flat UK economy, the first time ad spend has topped the £17bn since pre-recession 2007, according to the latest Advertising Association/Warc report.

Investment in online, up 13.2 per cent to £5.41bn, fuelled the growth. London 2012 sponsors such as Coca-Cola, BP and BT helped lift out of home spend 9.5 per cent to £970m.
